加拿大新推出的联邦技术劳工移民在2014年5月1日起接受5000个名额的申请，直至2015年1月特快入境正式生效。5000个名额中，每个工作职位的申请不能超过100个。

申请技术劳工移民，必须符合以下几点要求：

1） 申请人打算在加拿大长期居住（魁北克省除外）
2）申请人必须达到所要求的语言能力
- 说和听CLB 5级以上
- 读和写CLB 4级以上
3）在过去的五年里至少有两年关于技术劳工的全职工作或累计相同时间的兼职工作
4）符合技术劳工项目职业分类表所有的工作的要求
5）拥有至少超过一年的工作聘书或申请省份/地区颁发的资格许可证
